Westminster Community Children's Choir is a performing choir for grades
K-6, sponsored by Westminster Presbyterian Church, and comprised of
children from all over the tri-county area. Our children represent a
wide variety of schools, communities, and faith backgrounds. All
children of the Montgomery area are welcome. There is no audition and
no fee, however, participants must commit to weekly rehearsals, six
Sunday morning worships, and two concerts.
In addition to
learning a large repertoire of traditional choral music, children will
receive instruction in vocal technique, music reading, handbell playing,
part singing, ear training, and diction. Each child is given
opportunities for solo performance, as well
as opportunities for ministry through worship leading, nursing home
concerts, and making cards for shut-ins.
Our musical goal is to
show children we can work hard and have fun at the same time. Our
spiritual goal is to provide a place where all children feel welcome and
valued, to enrich each child's life with a greater knowledge of God,
and give each one a larger sense of her or his place in the family of
God. We believe our members and their parents are very proud of what we
accomplish in this choir, and that our children benefit greatly from
learning in a safe, loving environment. Join us!
